Dark Spots
A lot of people have dark spots on their skin, whether they are caused by the sun or an underlying medical condition, and they don’t know how to get rid of them naturally. Here are 10 remedies that will help fade those dark spots and keep them from returning again.
1) Milk
A popular skin-lightening remedy, milk contains lactic acid, which breaks down and removes dead skin cells that can cause dark spots.
2) Coconut oil
Coconut oil is a natural skin remedy that’s packed with antioxidants, which can help fade dark spots. The fatty acids in coconut oil are also very similar to those found in our skin, making it easier for our bodies to absorb and use them. Look for a virgin or extra-virgin version that contains as few additives as possible (look at labels carefully; some manufacturers add chemicals like hexane) to get optimal results.
3) Lemon juice
Lemons are loaded with vitamin C, which will help fade dark spots. You can also use lemon juice to get rid of blackheads on your nose and chin. Take a cotton ball and dip it in lemon juice. Rub it on your face where you have blackheads or dark spots. Wait until it dries, then wash off with warm water. Try to do this daily for best results!
4) Turmeric paste
Turmeric, a common spice in curry, has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce swelling of your skin. Mix turmeric powder with some water to make a paste and dab it on your dark spots. Leave it on overnight and wash off in the morning. Do not do so more than twice a week as excessive application can cause irritation to sensitive skin. You can also mix almond oil and turmeric together to form a paste and apply that over night. Do not exceed more than three applications per week.

5) Honey
Honey is a natural skin remedy used to fight dark spots and even skin tone. Honey is made up of glucose and fructose that can help reduce dark spots by gently exfoliating skin cells. Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 2 tablespoons of yogurt or rose water and apply it on your face for 15 minutes, then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Repeat twice a week until you get rid of your dark spots naturally.
6) Potatoes
Packed with vitamin C, potatoes provide an easy-to-prepare solution to brighten your skin and help make your complexion look less spotty. Just cut a potato in half and rub each of your dark spots with a little dab of potato juice. Let sit for five minutes and rinse clean with cool water.
7) Yogurt
Did you know that acne-prone skin is actually linked to a higher incidence of vitamin A deficiency? This makes yogurt an excellent remedy, as it’s loaded with vitamin A and will also help to exfoliate your skin. To treat dark spots, apply a layer of plain yogurt to your face at night before bed. Leave it on overnight and rinse off in the morning.
8) Egg whites
Egg whites are a natural skin remedy for fading dark spots. The protein found in egg whites helps build new collagen and encourage elastin production, making your skin appear firmer and less spotted. Beat an egg white until frothy, then rub it onto affected areas and leave on until completely dry before rinsing off with cool water. Use daily to see results.
9) Aloe vera gel
This all-natural gel is one of nature’s best remedies for burns, cuts, scrapes and sunburn. But there are also plenty of other ways to use aloe vera gel that you may not have considered – or even known about.
10) Rosewater
Rosewater is an age-old skin remedy that works wonders. It has anti-bacterial properties, anti-fungal properties and can fight off other infections as well. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is also useful in reducing swelling of various kinds. Use rosewater on your face with cucumber slices to make a natural mask that will tighten and cleanse your pores while moisturizing your skin naturally.
